I went back to my Ulta Grey Polish again called Concrete Evidence. It’s such an odd color to me but I really want to make it work. See my 1st attempt at working with it here.Grey and Silver Polish Bottles
I tried a design with more shimmer this time and without the shattered polishes.

I like this one a lot. It’s something about that shimmer/glitter effect that makes me prefer this one over the first attempt.Grey and Silver Nails Holding Silver GlitterThis look was definitely easier to do.  It required less polishes as well as less work.  I initially got the idea of having my whole nail be shimmery and glittery as a result of messing up the first design. LOL! I then tried to “fix it” by adding a little more Kiss Nail Art in Silver Glitter, but it ended up being too much.  Later I decided I was going to just polish the nail art glitter all over my nail to see what happens.  Hey, the worse thing that could happen was that I didn’t like it and I could then take off the color and try something else.Grey and Silver Nail Art Close

I topped it off with one of my favorite polishes by KleanColor called Aurora, which is a beautiful confetti polish with pink stars. :-) I use it all of the time to add a little extra to my designs. Then I added a coat of Wet n Wild Party of 5 Glitter polish. Lastly I finished it with Cult Nails Wicked Fast clear polish.

I went outside my comfort zone with this nail polish. I’ve never worn grey on my nails before. I thought I’d give it a try. Can’t say that I’m really liking it, but I’m going to leave it on at least a couple of days to see if it grows on me.

I purchased this polish either early this year or the end of last year during some sale at Ulta. I think the polish was like $2.  I really like the name, Concrete Evidence

Here’s what I used to create my design

  1. One Coat of Ulta Salon Formula in Concrete Evidence
  2. 2012 Cracked Nail Polish in Tomorrow at the top
  3. Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Fuchsia Shock at the bottom
  4. Kiss Brush On Nail Art in Silver Glitter in the middle in a diagonal

This worked really well on my left hand, but when I tried to duplicate it on my right hand…not so much.

For whatever reason, the 2012 polish didn’t crack, so to add a little extra, I put Wet n Wild Party of Five Glitters on top.  I like how it came out.

I have to admit that I really like how my designs looked when I was finished.  I just don’t really like the grey.  To me it seems kind of dirty looking. Ha ha!

White Multi-Colored Nails of the week (NOTW)

The week after I posted this White nail polish combo, I tried a new spin on the White nails by adding a couple more colors.

I really liked how my 1st experiment with the white polish turned out so I decided to add yellow and teal along with the pink and purple to see how it would look.

I started off by polishing all of my nails white.  Then I added the crackle polishes in a diagonal on all nails except my ring finger.

Now before you say anything, I just want to point out that I clean up the extra polish at the end.  I know this looks messy right now. LOL! :-D

 Next I added Yellow and Pink crackle colors on my ring finger.

Next I added the Purple 

Then the Teal

Topped off the look with silver glitter nail art polish and confetti polish.

Now to clean up the messy areas.

This was an experiment. I was curious to see how I could use white polish and make it work with other colors, particularly crackle/shatter polishes.

Here are the steps I used to get the look above.

  Initially I planned to do two different looks, but started getting sleepy and was only able to do one.  I ended up doing the 2nd look the next day.  So in this post I’ll focus on Look 1.  I used all of the polishes except the yellow and dark teal (the two on the right end) for Look 1.

I polished my nails with the white polish, then added 2012 and China Glaze Crackle polishes on the tips in a diagonal.

Next I added the Sally Hansen Crackle Polish right beneath the 2012 Crackle polish.

Then I added the purple China Glaze Polish.

Afterwards I applied the Klean Color Polish in Aurora which is a very pretty confetti polish.

 Here’s the finished look below.

I was trying to get as much light as I could without having to go outside in the hot Houston Sun. I figured I’d get right next to the window.  I kind of like the background effect.

LOL! My baby boy King Solomon was concerned at the fact I kept standing by the window with my hand up and ended up in one of my pics. Ha ha! :-D

Blue KleanColor Nails of The Week (NOTW)

I’ve been having more and more fun playing with polish and coming up with different designs on my nails.  I’m not a manicurist, however I do enjoy having my nails done or at least polishing them. In this post I’ll show you how I used the above polishes to come up with my nails of the week. 

I began by using a base coat.  I’ve noticed since using this Sally Hansen Insta Grip Base Coat polish, my actual color goes on more smooth and does last a bit longer than when I don’t use it.Next I used the Kiss Nail Art polish in silver and placed it across the middle of my nail.Next I added Kleancolor Polish in Pastel Teal at the tip. I polished the rest of my nails with the Kleancolor Pastel Teal Polish.

Then I added the Sally Hansen HD polish in DVD to the lower part of my nail  I apologize for the blurry pic. The batteries in my camera died and I had to use my cell. :-( I finished my design with the Kleancolor Polish in Aura which is a pretty confetti polish.

Essie “Off The Shoulder” Nails of The Week NOTD

 I’ve heard other bloggers talk about Essie Polish but this is my first bottle.

I received this bottle of Essie polish as a Klout Perk. I’m so glad I did. It’s a gorgeous pink.

I combined it with my beauty supply polishes

Kiss Nail Art in Silver Glitter, Absolute in Lavender (my most recent NOTD you can see here) and Sinful Colors in Let’s Talk.

This polish retails for $8.  I’ll have to see how long it lasts before I can decide whether I’d spend $8 for a bottle of polish.  I tend to stick to inexpensive polish because when I used pricey polishes, I haven’t noticed a difference in the longevity. No matter the brand or even if I get my nails professionally done, polish on my natural nails doesn’t last more than 3 days on average.  :-(
