MAC and Nasty Gal collaborated to provide makeup lovers with a bold December collection.  It includes Lipsticks and a Nail Lacquer.

Here are the lipsticks below.BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Lipsticks with flashFrom Left to Right Gunner, Runner, Stunner.

I didn’t get the nail laquer because I have plenty of red polishes that I never use.  I’ll swatch all 3 lipsticks in this post to show you what they look like.  First up is Stunner.

I just realized that I never got around to posting my love for the Viva Glam Rhianna 2 Lipglass.  It’s even pretty in the tube!!

imageIt has Rhianna’s autograph on it just like the original Viva Glam Rhianna.

I’m wearing Viva Glam Rhianna 2 Lipglass alone in these pictures.  It can definitely be worn with a lip pencil and/or lipstick, but I think it’s absolutely gorgeous by itself.

imageHow can I describe this Lipglass??

It’s like magic in a tube.  Viva Glam Rhianna 2 Lipglass is a beautiful iridescent sparkly clear gloss that reflects the light and appears to change colors depending on the angle that you look at it.

The newest installment of MAC Viva Glam lipstick and lipglass was released this week. The newest Viva Glam Spokesperson is Rihanna.

2014-01-03 10.18.091390806106815I purchased the lipstick and I love it. It’s a different red than the other MAC lipsticks.  It’s a pretty red frost. Here it is below.Viva Glam Rihanna ContainerThe box has Rihanna’s autograph

Rihanna and her team did a great job picking this color.  I know a lot of people dislike frost textured products, but this one is really pretty and isn’t overly shimmery. Somehow it has just the right amount of sheen.  I worked at the counter today and sold quite a few of these Rihanna Lipsticks and Lipglasses.  I can honestly say I haven’t seen it look bad on anyone.  It’s a very wearable red.   It also has great staying power.  There’s not an official guaranteed time frame as far as how many hours it will last, but this is my 3rd day wearing it and I don’t have to touch up throughout the day until I eat.  Even when I drink water, the color stays true.

I’ll be buying more of these before they’re gone.  As a heads up it’s only available for a year. Also keep in mind all proceeds of MAC Viva Glam lipsticks and lipglasses go to the MAC AIDS fund.   You’re doing a good deed by purchasing these products so go get you some. :-)

The MAC Punk Couture Collection was released today.Punk Couture Lipstick Keeping with their post Holiday tradition, MAC released a collection that was bold and full of color. There are bright pigments, bold lipsticks, and lipglosses. Out of all of the products, the Punk Couture Lipstick is what stood out to me the most. The others seemed like repromotes (Particularly from the MAC Style Black Collection from 2009) or were just too similar to other things I owned from other brands. I only bought this lipstick.Punk Couture Label Here’s what it looks like on mePunk Couture with hand swatchPunk Couture looking to rightpunk couture smilingThe two pictures above are with a flash. Punk Couture Looking StraightPunk Couture Silly face I like it. Not sure how much I’ll actually wear it though.  I have a lot of purple lip colors and I can’t say that this is one of my favorites. I wanted it because it was a matte lipstick and I felt like I’d regret not getting it when I had the chance. I do like that fact that I don’t need a liner.  I’m sure it’ll be pretty to layer with other products (lipglosses, pigments, glitters…) I really like that it’s one of the darkest purple lipsticks I’ve seen. Usually to achieve this look, I’d need to mix a really dark lip pencil (like MAC Nightmoth) with something else. It’s cool to be able to achieve this intense dark purple matte look in one step :-)

2013-11-08 23.14.58This product has been out for a while, but for whatever reason, I never tried it. I would see it while working at the counter but I just never ventured out of my normal routine of using either the original Prep and Prime Primer or the newer Prep and Prime Natural Radiance Primer.

I’m a big advocate of prepping the skin before applying makeup so I always prime first. I regularly use Make Up Forever’s HD Primer on my freelance jobs when I’m not working at the MAC Counter. I love it.  It’s always nice to discover new products that work well so I can expand my options in my pro makeup kit.

I decided to try the MAC Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion Serum a few weeks ago because I didn’t have the Natural Radiance at my particular station.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well the product works.

20131026_192800 This is what it looks like when you pump it out.

20131026_192813 This is how it looks after rubbing it in a bit.  It’s so lightweight and feels really good on the skin.  It’s a thin consistency so it blends really well without any residue.

The MAC Moisture Infusion Serum reminds me a lot of the MUFE HD Elixer. It’s like a hybrid between a primer and moisturizer all in one. It makes the skin feel hydrated  and allows the makeup to go on more smoothly. I’ve been using it ever since and my customers have really liked how their skin feels. It retails for $40. I’ll be adding it to my pro makeup kit soon.
