What are Klout and Spotify?
Klout is an internet resource to find out your amount of influence in the internet. It allows you to give and receive “K”s to people (up to 5 per day) based on their level of influence and specialty. For example, I specialize in make-up, beauty, skin care, and cosmetics. You would be able to give me a “K” in one of these areas. You can also compare your level of Klout to other people. Best of all is that it’s free and you are able to earn “perks” to get free prizes.
I’d recommend all of you signing up for a Klout account. Once you sign up, you will be able to connect your Klout account with your Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare accounts. These combined will give you more Klout. I don’t do Foursquare but I have my facebook and twitter accounts connected to my Klout account. When you sign on to twitter, you’ll be able to see everyone else’s Klout score.
Right now one of the perks is getting a free account with Spotify. What is Spotify? It’s like an online music library where you can store your digital music and access it from anywhere that has internet access. You can also listen to music that’s already a part of the website. It reminds me of a mixture of itunes and the Apple Mobile Me Cloud which costs $99/yr. (at least it did when I had it, that was in 2008 and 2009). Here’s Klout’s description of Spotify below.
Are you ready to rock?
The award-winning music service that’s taken Europe by storm has landed on U.S. shores. Their first port of call: Klout HQ. Any track, any time, anywhere. Like any good concert, we have a limited number of early-access Spotify account invitations to dole out. Get yours now and let the music flow!
This website will take you to the page about getting the free Spotify account.

A world of music awaits
Think of Spotify as your new music collection. Your library. Only this time your collection is vast: over 15 million tracks and counting. Spotify comes in all shapes and size, available for your PC, Mac, home audio system and cell phone. Wherever you go, your music follows you.
And because the music plays live, there’s no need to wait for downloads and no big dent in your hard drive.
Sharing music made easy
Thanks to Spotify, it’s now easier than ever to share music. You’re free to share everything you listen to on Spotify with your friends – tracks, playlists, the lot. Connect Spotify to Facebook and you’ll be sharing your favourites with friends in seconds.
Just send them a link to a track or playlist and they can listen instantly. If you like, you can also collaborate on shared playlists. Social music made simple.
Check it out and let me know what you think. It’s free! 😀
