Continuing Education in Artistry

Even though I’ve been a make-up artist for a few years now, it’s still important to stay current in trend and fine tune my techniques.  I used to get continuing education classes every couple of months when I was a permanent artist with Clinique and later M.A.C., but since I’m on the free lance/on-call team with M.A.C., I no longer attend those update classes.

I was so excited to find out that a couple of the make-up artists that I admire from youtube were coming to my area to teach classes.  Ebony from ColoredBeautiful check her out here http://www.youtube.com/user/colouredbeautiful; and Koren from EnkoreMakeup with Elessa from Pursebuzz, check him out here http://www.youtube.com/user/enkoremakeup, and check her out here http://www.youtube.com/user/pursebuzz, will be in Dallas for two days on 7/30-7/31 to facilitate their “Out of the Beauty Box” (O2B2) classes.

This post will be a summary of my experience in Ebony’s class.  She was here this past weekend 6/18-6/19 to facilitate her “Make Me Over Class”.

Before any of the make-up demos or hands on training, Ebony did a very thorough background in skin care.  I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she’s a licensed aesthetician as well as a manicurist.  She has a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to understanding skin types, causes of skin problems, and recommendations to treat them. Totally credentialed to teach this class. She’s not the average youtuber.

She captivated all of our attention with her information, skills, and techniques.
Ebony was so humble and helpful.  She took her time in working with everyone whether experienced in the field or not.  She was extremely down to earth and made all of us feel welcome and like we were family.

This experience is one I will never forget.  I was able to interact with other ladies in the class as well as gain extra information.  We received a really nice make-up train case with products inside as well as a 12 piece brush roll set.  All of it is professional grade and will be lovely additions to my current make-up kit.

If anyone is contemplating attending her class, stop thinking about it and just register.  You won’t regret it.  She’s so professional and business minded.  It’s apparent that this isn’t just a cool hobby of hers.  She’s very passionate about what she does and she enjoys sharing this passion with others who want to be successful in make-up.  You will not be disappointed.

I subscribe to Ebony on YouTube and I love her videos. She is very knowledgeable of makeup, but I did not know she even taught classes. The thing I like about her is that she uses a lot of affordable, drug store/discount store products!

Great post…beauty Ed is def important!

Yes, her videos are awesome. The great thing about Ebony is that she is the same down to earth and personable person in real life as she is on YouTube. That was a relief. I agree that a major plus with watching her videos as well as taking her classes is that she uses a wide variety of products. 90% of the products I purchased from Elf were because of watching her Elf haul. I never considered them before.

Hey Ro!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. I think people tend to over look Continuing Education and get comfortable. We can always benefit from extra education.

I love her You Tube channel. She's so beautiful and sweet. I wish I could take some of her classes but she doesn't offer them in my area though.
