I have several Wet n Wild lipsticks, mostly the matte lipsticks.  I’d never tried the Megalast liquid lipsticks until I got this one.Wet n Wild Back to the FuchsiaI purchased this one from CVS while they had a sale on Wet N Wild Products that was Buy One Get One half off! I also purchased some lipsticks from the Fergie collection.  To see my review of those lipsticks click here for Ferguson Crest Cabernet and here for Pagan Angel.

Back To The Fuchsia is a gorgeous color…but I haven’t figured out how to apply it evenly without it caking and being too dry. Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia on lips In the picture above I have about 3 coats of it.  I love that the color gets bolder the more you apply, but it also gets cakey and cracks. I’m still trying to play with it to figure how to apply it and prevent this from happening.  It seems like if I could get it on with one smooth stroke, it would be ok.  That’s just hard to do.  When I use the applicator I go across the top lip moving up and across then down and next I fill it in.  On the bottom lip I use the applicator going down and across then back up to the other side then I fill it in. This liquid lipstick dries pretty quickly so if I go back and apply more in the middle it’s no longer smooth.  It’s different than how you can apply a lipgloss where you can just go back and forth across your lips.

Anyway, below is the look I wore with this lip over the weekend. FOTD feat Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia Angle viewFOTD featuring Wet n Wild Back to the Fuschia Ha ha! A silly pose belowFOTD feat Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia silly pose

Stila Eyeliner Pen I’m not sure why I’d never tried this eyeliner or even heard anyone talk about it before, but I tested it at Sephora last month and instantly fell in love.  Eyeliner pens are my favorite liquid liners.  They just seem to be much easier to apply. The downside is that it’s hard to find a good one. So what do I mean by “good”?

  1. Wet
  2. Stiff and pointed tip
  3. Long wearing/lasting

I’ve tried MAC Penultimate and it used to be my favorite. It has a short precise felt tip that glides on smoothly. It lasts all day. I tried Revlon Colorstay, which is pretty good, but the tip is bigger than I like and they don’t seem to be made the same. I’ve had a couple that were great and then a couple that dried really quickly and were hard to apply. It stayed on all day without any problems, even through intense workouts.  I also gave the Elf eyeliner pen a try.  The original version of the Elf eyeliner pen was decent.  The newest version I don’t like at all.  It has a weird applicator.  It’s flat instead of long and pointy.  You have to keep pumping it to get the liquid to come to the tip.  It never seemed wet enough to glide on.  It ended up being almost painful to apply.  (plus it went up a dollar. *hmph*).

Stila Eyeliner Pen standing This Stila eyeliner pen is by far the best that I’ve ever tried.  When I took the cap off, I was instantly optimistic because I saw the tip.  It’s really long and goes from thick to fine.  This means you can easily make a very thin or thick line above your lashes.

Stila Eyeliner Pen Swatches On my hand I applied the same Stila eyeliner pen.  On top I held it at an angle.  At the bottom I used the very tip with a soft stroke.   Here it is on my eye. Stila Eyeliner pen open eye Stila Eyeliner Pen eye closed Another thing I absolutely LOVE about this Stila Eyeliner Pen is that it dries quickly and once it’s on…it’s on. You will need makeup remover to get it off.

Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara I took a chance when I tried this mascara.  I hadn’t heard any reviews and didn’t take any time to look it up.  I saw that it was on sale for $2 at H.E.B. grocery store and decided to give it a try.  Rimmel Max Volume Mascara brush I’ve been using it for a while now and it does a pretty good job.  I recently posted a look while using it when I created my FOTD with Ofra and Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.  To see that post click here.Rimmel Max Flash Mascara on one eye

It’s ok.  It’s not the best mascara I’ve ever used but it’s definitely not the worse.  It got the job done.  I mean, it was only $2 so my expectations weren’t that high anyway.  Not sure that I’d buy it again, but  I don’t regret that I took a chance on it.

Ofra bag My 1st time hearing about Ofra Cosmetics was at The Makeup Show Orlando in 2012.  I remember seeing Ofra giving a presentation as I walked by.  I intended to go by their booth, but for whatever reason, I just never got back around to doing it.  Fast forward to this year at The Makeup Show New York.  While working with AJ Crimson, I got the opportunity to meet the owners David and his wife Ofra. They are wonderful people. Super friendly and they love meeting makeup artists.  I was amazed at how many products they had and couldn’t believe I’d never heard of them before.  They have skin care, tools, education materials, and of course lots of makeup.  To learn more about Ofra go to ofracosmetics.com. I’m going to do a series highlighting some of my favorite Ofra Products so stay tuned.

In this post, I’m going to show you my Face Of The Day (FOTD) featuring Ofra cosmetics and Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.  I’ll walk you through how I completed the look.Ofra and Naked before pic

First I primed my skin with the Ofra Primer Ofra PrimerI decided to do my face first so I could test out my new Elf shadow/mascara shield.  Here’s what I used on my face below.  I applied the Cover Girl Queen Collection 3 n 1 Foundation except under my eye area.  I used my Black Opal Foundation stick under my eyes as concealer and set it with Ben Nye Banana Powder.  I also used these two products down the middle of my nose and middle of forehead as highlights.  Ofra and Naked 3 Face products

Then I went to my eyes.  These are the products I used

Ofra and Naked 3 Eye Products I used the Maybelline clear mascara on my brows to shape them and hold them in place.  It’s a great alternative to MAC’s brow set.  Elf has a good dupe as well. Next I used the Black Opal Foundation Stick to clean up my brows.  Then I applied the Ofra Eye Primer Gel from my lash line to brow bone. Afterwards I began to apply the Naked 3 Shadows, the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Perversion, Rimmel Mascara and beauty supply lashes.  See below for the steps I tookNaked 3 Darkside I used Darkside in my creaseNaked Darkside blended in crease Next I blended limit right above my crease as my transition color. Naked 3 LimitNaked 3 Limit blended above creaseNext step was adding Strange as my brow highlightNaked 3 StrangeNaked Strange blended as brow highligh For my Lid, I used Dust.  This color has quite a bit of shimmer and has big specks of color so I used my Elf Shadow/Mascara shield to reduce fall out. Naked 3 DustNaked 3 Dust with Elf Shadow Shield Here’s what my eyes look like so far.  There was still some fall out, but a lot less than if I wouldn’t have used the shield. Naked eye look before eyelinerNext I added Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Pencil in Perversion as well as Rimmel Volume Flash MascaraOfra and Naked 3 look b4 lips and lashesNext step was lips.  I used Ofra Purple Haze lipstickOfra and Naked 3 look with mascara and lips done I added  #43 false lashesOfra and Naked 3 lash application 1st step Ofra and Naked 3 Lash application 2nd step Ofra and Naked 3 Lash Application 3rd step Here’s the finished look! Ofra and Naked 3 finished look 1Ofra and Naked 3 finished look 2Ofra and Naked 3 Finished Look 3

So, I’m absolutely in love with Ofra Cosmetics. I’ve enjoyed using everything I have from them so far.  I also really like the Naked 3 palette.  I can definitely see myself using this one more than the 1st on.  I honestly forgot that I had the 1st one until people started talking about the 3rd installment of the palette. LOL!

I saw these 5th Ave Fashion Star Makeup Remover Wipes when I was at Ross in Orlando a few months ago. They come in a variety of fragrances (which I really don’t care for) with different colors.Fashion Star wipes

When I first picked them up, I thought wow 60 wipes for only $4.99!!! This is a great value! They seemed to be a nice size as well so I figured I’d give them a try.

fashion star wipes on handWhen I opened the pack I was pleased to see that they are indeed a nice size. I can get my makeup off with 2-3 of these.

Pros:

  1. Inexpensive
  2. Nice size
  3. Removes makeup
  4. Doesn’t burn my eyes

Cons:

  1. Not moist enough
  2. Would rather not have a fragrance, but if I had to have one, I’d only want a fresh scent.
  3. They taste really bad. No I didn’t put it in my mouth. LOL! But when removing my lip products I could taste it. Yuck!

If you didn’t get a chance to get the MAC limited edition Haute Couture lipstick but still want to try a black lipstick, no worries. Here’s a much cheaper alternative.

Fergie Pagan Angel LipstickFergie Pagan Angel labelThis is Pagan Angel. It’s from the Fergie collection with Wet n Wild.Fergie Pagan Angel without topAbove is with a flash and below is without

Fergie Pagan Angel swatches with flashGranted it’s not a matte, however, if you want to make it matte, just add a transparent powder on top. ;-) This lipstick is creamy and glides on very smoothly. Below is a picture of it on my lips without a flash.Fergie Pagan Angel on lips no flashHere it is with a flashFergie Pagan Angel on lips with flashIt starts off sheer but is totally buildable, so the more you put on, the darker it gets. This is great because it makes it easier to wear. It doesn’t start off extremely dramatic.

This lipstick should be around $4 and could be a lot cheaper if on sale. I actually got it from CVS when they had Wet n Wild products on sale buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. It was regularly $3.49. I bought two other lipsticks from this collection that I’ll review in another post.

I like it. Can’t say that I’ll be wearing a black lip a lot, but I’m sure I’ll pull it out every now and then. Just as I stated with MAC Punk Couture, I’m sure Pagan Angel will be pretty when layered with other products like glosses, glitters, and pigments.
