Here’s a swatch on my hand with a flash
I really, really like this lipstick. I’m happy with both the color and the texture. I couldn’t tell from just looking at it, but there’s a bit of shimmer but not enough to make it frosty. It glides on really smooth and feels hydrating on my lips. I know I’ll have to get a full size soon. Sending this free sample was a good idea from Black Opal.
I was introduced to a lot of companies I’d never heard of at The Makeup Show Orlando. According to James Vincent, a major focus was to highlight female owned companies, especially those in the area. While walking through the exhibit area, I passed by a pretty pink booth. I just had to stop by to see what they were selling.

I’m standing with Donte’, the owner of Lolade, at the booth.
I’m applying my brand new Party Girl Lip Laquer. I instantly fell in love with it.
They had a special which was buy 2 get one free. You could mix and match different products. I chose two Lip Laquers and a creme’ eye shadow.

From top to bottom: Party Girl Lip Laquer, What Lolita Wants Lip Laquer, and Curacao Creme’ Eye shadow. The indelible creme’ eye shadows can also be used as a liners, so I have a thin and a thick swatch. The above picture was taken without a flash. The picture below was with a flash.
Below are more pictures of the products.

What Lolita Wants Lip Laquer

These Lip Laquers feel wonderful on my lips. They are very opaque but not thick. They feel like a liquid lipstick. Once they dry, they stay on for hours without any transfer. I’m extremely impressed and pleased that I purchased them.
It’s always nice to go through your old makeup stash and find a treasure. While organizing my old lipsticks, I came across a bunch of Clinique lipsticks. One in particular stood out to me and put and instant smile on my face. Metallic Sand.
I worked for Clinique for about 2 1/2 yrs before I began working for MAC. I can’t tell you how many tubes of Metallic Sand lipstick I went through and how many I sold, but there were lots. It’s such a gorgeous color and it’s very versatile.
I could put this color on just about anyone regardless of age or color and it worked well. It’s also easy to use with different color eye shadows and blushes.
Metallic Sand is a great neutral color and can be blended with an array of lip liners. Below, I blended it with MAC Plum lip pencil.

I’m probably going to wear this combo a lot for the next couple of days. I can’t believe I forgot all about it. Have you ever found a lipstick from a while ago and fell back in love with it?

I discovered this beauty while browsing through the cosmetic section of H.E.B. grocery store last week. It retails for only $1.99. When I saw how pretty and vibrant this pink was I had to pick it up. After reading that it was a matte lipstick, I was really happy because I’ve been looking for a bold pink lipstick for a while. I want a lipstick that would be equivalent to M.A.C. Ruby woo…but pink. (If ya’ll know of one please share it with me. ;-p)
There’s a lot of product in this tube for only $1.99 #winning!!!

It goes on really smooth

So what are my thoughts? I really like this lipstick. It’s advertised to last up to 4hrs and I agree. I didn’t have a problem with it lasting. The only downside is that this lipstick is really not matte. It reminds me more of a mixture between a MAC Amplified and Satin textures. I LOVE the color though and for $1.99, I can deal with it not being as matte as I’d hoped.
I know Walgreens had Wet-n-Wild products on sale buy 2 get 1 free last week. I’m not sure when the sale ends though. If you want to try out these Wet-n-Wild matte lipsticks…or any of their products, it would be a good idea to try them while they’re on sale.
Today I wore MAC Up The Amp Lipstick. It’s such a pretty color.
I wore it alone. It’s even prettier when blended with lipliner such as MAC Currant Lip Pencil. See here. To add extra pop you could add MAC Viva Glam VI.
What did you wear on your lips today?
