OMG!! I just found a new favorite makeup brand. The Lip Bar!!!

BeautyByLeRenda TheLipBarBox

I haven’t been this excited about a makeup brand since discovering Magnolia Makeup & AJ Crimson; and if you’ve been following me, you know how much I love those two brands. :-)BeautyByLeRenda TheLipBarBox opened The Lip Bar has great customer service,  fast shipping,  personalized messages, and pretty packaging. (I’m a sucker for pretty

packaging. LOL! :-P).  They even spelled my name right with my personalized Cheers!!  *Bonus Points* HA!! :-)  I love the whole theme of the company and I’m looking forward to getting more products from them.

The 1st lipstick I’ll review is Purple Rain. Studio_20141229_203540BeautyByLeRenda TheLipBar Purple Rain LipstickThe 1st swatch is with a flash. The 2nd is without a flash.BeautyByLeRenda TheLipBar Purple Rain Swatch with flashBeautyByLeRenda TheLipBar Purple Rain Swatch no flashHere’s what it looks like on my lips without a flash. BeautyByLeRenda TheLipBar Purple Rain on lips closeupStudio_20141229_203341

The texture of this lipstick is similar to a MAC Cremesheen Lipstick, but with more pigment.  They are very hydrating, glide on really easy, and feel great on my lips.

BeautyByLeRenda TheLipBar Purple Rain on lips 2 All of The Lip Bar’s lipsticks are Vegan. Their ingredient list includes Vitamin E Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter,  Organic Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Pigment, and “Love” :-). They don’t include Parabens, Mineral Oils, Animal products, or other “unnecessary crap”. (All of this was taken from TheLipBar.com)

Stay tuned for Part 2 of my The Lip Bar review in which I’ll show you Dark & Stormy Lipstick.

AJ Crimson On The Go Tour Flyer

In the previous post, I gave you a synopsis of the 1st half of the “On The Go” Tour featuring AJ Crimson and his AJ Crimson Pro products.  In this post, I’ll focus on the 2nd half of the class which includes Celebrity Lash Guru Ja’Maal Buster.

BeautyByLeRenda Ja'Maal Buster talking to the attendees of the On The Go Tour HoustonHe gave us the background on how he developed his brand of lashes and the benefit of using them verses other lashes.  The biggest benefit is the way the lashes feel.  They’re very lightweight and easy to maneuver. The bands are thin which makes it so much easier to apply to the lash line.  (I can vouch for this.  I really like his lashes. I bought some last year when I worked with him and AJ for  the Glam Suite during NBA  All-Star Weekend).

Ja’Maal asked for a volunteer to apply his lashes on.  BeautyByLeRenda Ja'Maal Buster's Model NikkiProfessional Makeup Artist Nikki was chosen as his model.

He informed us of the different styles of lashes and that each style was based on a story from his clients in his early years. The lashes have names like “Soap Opera” (which I wore last night), “Crush”, 2nd Date Guaranteed”, “Daddy’s Little Girl”, and “Disturbia” (named after the Rihanna video that he created amazing lashes for).

He showed us exactly how he uses the Ja’Maal Buster Lash Adhesive and Lash Tool to apply lashes on Nikki.

Ja’Maal explained how versatile his lashes are and did a bonus demo to show how to add drama and glam by stacking his lashes. He asked for another model to show the difference stacking lashes can make on your clients.BeautyByLeRenda Ja'Maal telling class about versatility of his lashes

Here is the multi-pack of Ja’Maal Buster Lashes being passed through the class.  These would be great for Professional Makeup Artists to have in their Pro kits.  :-)

Thanks Brian! :-) Beauty By LeRenda with Ja'Maal Buster at the "On The Go" Tour Me with Ja’Maal Buster!! :-)

MAC and Nasty Gal collaborated to provide makeup lovers with a bold December collection.  It includes Lipsticks and a Nail Lacquer.

Here are the lipsticks below.BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Lipsticks with flashFrom Left to Right Gunner, Runner, Stunner.

I didn’t get the nail laquer because I have plenty of red polishes that I never use.  I’ll swatch all 3 lipsticks in this post to show you what they look like.  First up is Stunner.

BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Stunner Lipstick BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Stunner Hand Swatch BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Stunner Looking LeftBeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Stunner Looking down It’s a pretty Red.  Not much different from Ruby Woo and Riri Woo.  (I’ll compare it to other reds in a later post)  Next up is Runner. BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Runner Lipstick swatchIt’s a nice burgundy matte lipstick. 20141208_185410BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Runner Duck LipsBeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Runner Lipstick smiling

The last lipstick is Gunner. BeautyByLeRenda MAC and Nasty Gal Gunner Lipstick with flash

I’m going to start right off by saying “Go Get This Lip Palette!!!” No…really…you should purchase this palette.

image(The top of my palette is stained from me spraying Beauty So Clean Sanitizing Spray over time.  It started off clear)  The Primary Infinity Palette is an absolute staple in my Professional Makeup Artist Kit. I can create all kinds of looks with this one palette.  These colors are very vibrant, not at all sheer, and easy to blend.  They are just the right creamy texture; not too thick.  They apply well to the skin without being too greasy.  Even though it’s a lip palette, the Primary Infinity Palette can effortlessly be blended into pretty cheek colors.

Below, I’ll show you how I created a gorgeous burgundy Fall lip on model Keneice for our photoshoot with talented Houston photographer Ambient Noir.

imageimageFirst I used my spatula to scoop out some red, purple, and black.  Then I mixed those colors together until I got the color burgundy that I wanted.image I later added MAC Cremestick Lip Liner in Velvetella.

Here’s what it looks like.imageimageimageModel Keneice did a fantastic job werkin the camera! It was such a pleasure doing her makeup. :-)

image Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll use the same Magnolia Makeup Primary Infinity Lip Palette to create a pretty red lip on Keneice.
