image American Textile Recycling Service or ATRS hosted the Houston Fashion Bloggers for an exclusive thrifting event at the corporate office in Houston.

image The amazing ATRS staff pulled out all the stops.  They picked their Fall Favorites for us to try on and take pictures of. We were thrilled to see the variety of items! Everything was very well organized.

The ATRS Staff set up racks of clothing for us to try on. imageimageimageimage They also had a gorgeous spread of accessories that included shoes, jewelry, purses, and even hats!

imageLook at how cute this purse is, annnd…it matched my hair. LOL!!! :-D

image image I’m not much of a hat person but something was special about this one. image imageIn the above pictures, I’m on the “Green Carpet” modeling my accessories that I picked out!

As a courtesy for the Houston Fashion Bloggers coming out to ATRS and sharing the info on social media, we were surprised with the gift of being allowed to take home what we picked out!! It was hard to choose my purse. I contemplated for a while and finally decided on the green bag. I already have a purple as well as a yellow bag.  This will be my 1st green one.

imageI had a great time at the ATRS Houston Fashion Bloggers meetup! I’m looking forward to be able to do more recycled thrift shopping with them in the future. I’d  highly recommend you check them out.  Especially if you’re environmentally conscious and appreciate “Eco Chic” apparel. Go to atrscorp.com for more info.

In the previous post I experimented with MAC Black Knight Lipstick. In this post I’ll be using Wet N Wild Lipstick Pagan Angel from the Fergie Collection.  image I love everything about this lipstick. I did a review of it last year but didn’t really wear it. Pagan Angel was the 1st lipstick that came to mind when I decided to go with dark lips for Halloween. imageimage

Since I used the MAC GlimmerGlass in Blackware in the previous post, I decided to try something different and go with more sparkle and gloss.  I used MAC GlimmerGlass in Bling Black on top to get this effect.imageHere’s what this combo looks like on my lips below image

*Remember my disclaimer about trying to decide what eye look to pair with my dark lips.  I wouldn’t normally have two different ones on. Ha! *

This Wet N Wild Pagan Angel is by far my favorite black lipstick. #1 it’s inexpensive. #2 it has great staying power. #3  it feels really good on my lips. It’s nice and creamy. Good job Wet N Wild! I wish I would’ve purchased two of these last year because I’m not sure if this color is still available.

Every year around this time, people tend to get rid of their bright pink, orange, lavender, and coral lip colors in exchange for darker berries, purples, burgundies, browns, and even black lip colors.

In this series, I’m going to show you some of the colors I’ll be using this season. Starting off with my variation of Black Lips. image **Now before I go any further, I want to give a disclaimer. I was doing practice looks for Halloween when I took most of these pictures, hence the bright blue wig and the mismatched eye makeup. Ha ha! I couldn’t decide whether to go with dark eyes or more neutral eyes. I was also trying to decide which black combo to use. **

I began with MAC Black Knight Lipstick. image  Due to Black Knight being a Cremesheen, it goes on pretty sheer. image  This looks more like a dark purple than black, so I added Urban Decay Perversion Pencil.  It’s the smoothest & blackest pencil I have.

image image The Perversion Pencil made a big difference. I was curious to see how a glossier lip would look, so I added MAC Blackware GlimmerGlass.  image image image I really like the high shine effect that I got from using Blackware GlimmerGlass.  image Stay tuned for Part 2 of my Dark Lip Fall/Winter 2014 Trend series.

It’s pretty dense which means, it should pick up product well. When I initially saw the brush, I figured it was similar to some other brushes that I have, but it’s actually different. See belowEcoTools Eyeshadow brush comparisons It turns out that it’s only really close to one of my Mondo brushes that I got from Nigel’s.EcoTools Eyeshadow brush and Mondo brush I’m looking forward to using these brushes.  I’ll review the lashes in a separate post.

I have several Wet n Wild lipsticks, mostly the matte lipsticks.  I’d never tried the Megalast liquid lipsticks until I got this one.Wet n Wild Back to the FuchsiaI purchased this one from CVS while they had a sale on Wet N Wild Products that was Buy One Get One half off! I also purchased some lipsticks from the Fergie collection.  To see my review of those lipsticks click here for Ferguson Crest Cabernet and here for Pagan Angel.

Back To The Fuchsia is a gorgeous color…but I haven’t figured out how to apply it evenly without it caking and being too dry. Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia on lips In the picture above I have about 3 coats of it.  I love that the color gets bolder the more you apply, but it also gets cakey and cracks. I’m still trying to play with it to figure how to apply it and prevent this from happening.  It seems like if I could get it on with one smooth stroke, it would be ok.  That’s just hard to do.  When I use the applicator I go across the top lip moving up and across then down and next I fill it in.  On the bottom lip I use the applicator going down and across then back up to the other side then I fill it in. This liquid lipstick dries pretty quickly so if I go back and apply more in the middle it’s no longer smooth.  It’s different than how you can apply a lipgloss where you can just go back and forth across your lips.

Anyway, below is the look I wore with this lip over the weekend. FOTD feat Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia Angle viewFOTD featuring Wet n Wild Back to the Fuschia Ha ha! A silly pose belowFOTD feat Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia silly pose

This last picture is with a flash and I added Stila Lip Enamel in Giggle to add an extra pop of pink to the middle and to take away some of the dryness. FOTD feat Wet n Wild Back to the Fuchsia full viewFace

Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara I took a chance when I tried this mascara.  I hadn’t heard any reviews and didn’t take any time to look it up.  I saw that it was on sale for $2 at H.E.B. grocery store and decided to give it a try.  Rimmel Max Volume Mascara brush I’ve been using it for a while now and it does a pretty good job.  I recently posted a look while using it when I created my FOTD with Ofra and Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.  To see that post click here.Rimmel Max Flash Mascara on one eye

It’s ok.  It’s not the best mascara I’ve ever used but it’s definitely not the worse.  It got the job done.  I mean, it was only $2 so my expectations weren’t that high anyway.  Not sure that I’d buy it again, but  I don’t regret that I took a chance on it.
