I’m proud to say that my 2nd shipment came in yesterday! Yay! :D
I was waiting on 2 Smokey Lash Mascaras, Aqua Cream Waterproof in black, HD Powder, and Mist & Fix.  I haven’t played with any of it yet.  I’m curious to see how Mist & Fix compares to M.A.C. Fix +.
After I received my order I realized that I have HD powders in 3 different sizes.  Ha ha! 10oz ( I just received), 5oz (I bought this travel size from Sephora sale for $15), and 2oz (I got this with a Holiday kit that I purchased from Sephora’s website last year).
My order will be complete when I receive my #4 Camo palette and my empty eyeshadow palette.  Both of these are currently out of stock. :-(

I wanted to show you what I purchased at the Make Up Forever Pro Road Show in Austin.  This is part 1 because I’m still waiting on another shipment to come in.  Some of the products are actually out of stock, so there may be three parts to this.

They gave us these really nice reusable shopping bags that I’ll be using a lot.  They’re pretty sturdy.

Here’s what’s inside

I was only able to take home the foundations and the flash palette after my purchase.  These were among the featured products that were 50% off.  I’ve been wanting some of this foundation for a couple of years but refused to pay $40 for it.  I’m sooooo glad that I waited.  I thought about getting it when I had a Sephora gift card a few months ago, but I purchased the Sephora Airbrush Foundation brush instead.  The other items were shipped to me and I received them last Saturday 10/15/11, which is pretty impressive since I was supposed to have a 5-10 business day wait.  Shout out to Turner and Mariel for doing such a great job with handling all of the purchases and shipping. :-)

Another picture of my products.  I’m so happy to have these items.  This is the most amount of MUFE products I’ve ever had.  Starting from the Top Left: Brush Cleanser, HD Foundation in  #107, #123, #153, and #185, and Airbrush Thinner. There are 4 eyeshadow refills: #5, #7, the infamous #92 (Woo Hoo! after all of these years I finally got it!), and #28.  In the middle is the flash palette on top and the Camo Concealer Palette #5.  They are laying on top of the On Makeup magazine that we received for free. To the right is the beautiful Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick #15.

I’m eagerly awaiting my next shipment.  I have so many ideas on how to be creative with these products. My next order has 2 Smokey Lash mascaras, Camo Palette #4, Empty Eye Shadow Palette, HD Powder, and Aqua Cream.

After I finished my last post, I decided to check the Coastal Scents website again to see if they had the blending brush that appears to be a dupe for the M.A.C. #217. Well you know what?  THEY DID!!! Woo Hoo!!  I bought 3 of them.  Guess what else I found out? It’s the EXACT SAME BRUSH as the one from Crown Brush.  The name on the website says it’s a Pro Blending Fluff Brush and it looks like this below.  Notice there’s no writing shown on the brush.

Well once I received the brushes, they said C433 Pro Blending Fluff.  I was so full of joy!  You know what else?  I just went to the website and the brush is sold out again. This is so crazy.  I’ve been trying to get this brush from Coastal Scents for months and months and this was the first time I was able to get it.  I was actually worried that when my order arrived, I’d have a notification saying the brush is no longer available and the’d refund my money. LOL!

Here’s everything I purchased below.

This post will focus on the lip products that I purchased from my Elf Haul that was discussed on the previous post.  I bought all four of the new Matte Lip Colors.  I’m so glad I did.
I’m really happy about these.  Don’t be deceived by the inexpensive price, the quality of these pencils are great.  The fact that they are in the form of a pencil makes it even easier to apply.

The packaging reminds me a lot of M.A.C. Shadesticks and Greasepaint Sticks.  Particularly the Greasepaint Sticks because there’s a sharpener at the end of the pencil. This isn’t mentioned on the website with the product so keep it in mind if you plan to purchase it. You can get a fresh point each time if you like. ;-)
From top to bottom, the colors are Praline, Toasted Rose, Coral, & Natural.
This is me applying the Matte Lip Color in Coral

This color is Tea Rose

You ever get the feeling that it’s just not possible to go into Target and just come out with one or two things?  Well this is what happened to me yesterday.  I went in for paper towel and toilet tissue, somehow I walked out with those things plus all of the items below.  The majority of this Haul is Elf, there are some Sonya Kashuk brushes as well as Neutrogena, and Loreal products as well.  I’ll break this into two posts.  1st I’ll focus on the Elf products I purchased.
So excited to try all of these!

I only paid a $1/ea for these eye shadow quads.  On the left is Punk Funk and on the right is Silver Lining

This is called All Over Color Stick in Golden Peach.  It can be used on the eyes, lips, and face. My guess is that it’s similar to M.A.C. Cream Color Base but in a solid stick form instead of a cream and it retails at $1 instead of $16.50.
It’s pretty…A bit more frosty than I would like, but still a nice color.  This will be pretty as a cheek highlight.

Honey Do Lip Gloss.  I like the easy squeeze tube applicator.  Retails $1
This color was a bit disappointing.  It’s very very sheer.  I was hoping it would be a pretty orange-red color.  In reality, it just looks like a red glossy tint on my lips.
Candid Coral Blush Retails $3
I know I’m going to be using this blush a lot.  It reminds me of M.A.C. Style.  It’s really pretty.
This is a look with the above products.  I’m so shocked at the payoff for only spending $1ea.  I’m overjoyed that Elf is sold at Target with it’s own section.

So Coastal Scents had their Memorial Day weekend sale last week.  Everything on the site was 25% off.  Boy was I excited.  So sure, by now, I already have quite a few things and I really dont’t NEED anything else from them, but, there’s always stuff I  can find on that site that I want to try out.  I also still had items in my wish list that I hadn’t purchased yet.

Limited Edition Fiji Twist
I’m always on the hunt for a good yellow shadow.   I’ll let you know how well this one works.
Limited Edition Hi Light Blue
Another Limited Edition eye shadow.  I don’t have a lot of light blues so I thought I’d give this one a try.  It looks like a fun color.

Prism Palette
This was out of stock for a while.  So glad that I was finally able to get it.

I purchased the Dark Compact Bronzer last month and I fell in love with it.  I have other bronzers of course but this color was different from all of my other ones as well as my other blushes.  I’ve been using my Dark Compact Bronzer everyday except when I freelance at M.A.C. (gotta where the brand to work).  At the time, I was skeptical so I only bought one.  Well since everything in the store was on sale, I decided to go ahead and get the other two.  Before purchasing the Coastal Scents Bronzer, The Cover Girl Queen Collection Bronzers were my favorite.  Now, I’m not so sure.  I guess if I had to chose, I’d still chose the Queen Collection because they’re not overly frosty.  The Coastal Scents bronzers are frosty.   Other than that, both brands are beautiful.

Bronzer Compact in Light
Bronzer Compact in Medium
I’ve had this in my wish list for a few months.  I’m really eager to try it out.  Until now, all I’ve used for brows were pencils and shadows.  Now, I officially have brow powders.  Yes!!

Brush Guards
I’ve started to really love these things.  They are very helpful in keeping my brushes in shape.  I’ve bought several of these packs.  I would recommend them to everyone who is really interested in taking care of their brushes.  This and of course keeping them clean. Ha ha!
Duo Fiber Crease Brush
I haven’t used this brush yet, however the picture above is deceiving.  It’s not nearly as dense as it shows above.  I’m doubtful if this will really work in my crease.  I’m guessing this will have to be used to lightly buff in concealer or maybe paint pots/primers.  I’ll keep you posted.
Destiny Kabuki on a Stick
I was excited to play with this brush but unfortunately it’s not as big as I was hoping.  I thought it was going to be like the Smashbox face and body brush, but it doesn’t compare at all.  It’s 1/2 the size.  I’ll still make good use of it, it’s just not what I thought it was going to be.
Chisel Shader Brush
Again, I was looking for a M.A.C. dupe.   I was hoping this would be like the Short shader brush #214 but it’s smaller and less dense.  I can still make it work and it’s not a waste of money at all, just not what I was hoping. (hmm, I think the moral of this story is to stop looking for dupes and just get the real thing huh??)

Sable Blending Brush
I was hoping this was going to be a MAC #224 dupe but it’s not.  It reminds me of their limited edition Sable Blending Blush that they had about 2 years ago.  It had a pretty lavender handle.  I love that brush for blending and softening edges of shadows however it doesn’t pick up color well.  It’s very very soft unlike the #224 that’s more stiff and can actually pick up color.  Not a bad brush at all, just not what I was looking for.  But hey, a make-up artist can’t have too many blending brushes so it’s cool.
