Black Opal Products

Black Opal offered free shipping with a $15 purchase during Memorial Day Weekend.  I was quite excited to find out about this special.  I’ve been on the hunt for Kalamari Sand foundation stick for months.  I tried a couple of Wal-Marts and Beauty Supply Stores but no luck.  I’m a sucker for free shipping with a low purchase requirement.  I didn’t buy a lot since I really didn’t need to.  If it would’ve been a $50 minimum purchase I probably would’ve bought more. (Thank God)  Here’s what I purchased below.

The two packages on the far right and far left are liquid foundation samples.  I haven’t opened them yet.
True Color Stick Foundation SPF8
These foundations sticks are absolutely spectacular.  I learned about them 1st through watching Erin from Scandalous Beauty youtube videos.  Later I attended an event with celebrity makep-up artist Sam Fine last Oct and he swears by them.  He actually helped to develop the formula!!  They can be used as spot concealers and sheer to full coverage foundation.  I use them for both.  The consistency is so wonderful.  It’s a creamy smooth texture without the shine.  It’s not really a cream to powder but it definitely has a matte finish.  They also have an SPF 8 which is not high enough to cause that white residue effect. 🙂  They retail for $9.50 on the Black Opal Website.  However, I think I paid $8.87 or something like that form Wal-Mart.  You know Wal-Mart has those funny prices.  LOL!  It wasn’t over $9 though.
Invisible Oil Blocking Loose Powder
This was the 1st product that I opened when my package came in the mail.  I couldn’t wait to see if this was going to help with my oily skin and keep me matte all day.  I was hoping this would be a dupe for my M.A.C. Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.  NOPE! This product was very disappointing.  My face is matte for about an hour and greasy after 2-3 hours. *sigh*
Granted I’ve only used it for about 4 days, but so far I don’t see a difference in this powder vs. any other loose powder.  Sure it set’s your foundation and allows you to touch up with it, but the advertised Oil Blocking results are missing.  This powder retails for $8.95 for 1oz.  Whereas my Prep and Prime powder retails at $23 for 0.28 oz . It would’ve been a much better bargain.   I was even more excited to try this powder since it was rated well with allure magazine.  Apparently the person that rated this powder was not that oily.
Duo Blush
Black Opal has mini duo blushes available only on their website.  They’re cute and pretty affordable at $1.90 each.  They come in three colors.   1.) Brown Sugar 2.) Cinnamon Spice and 3.) Berry Granita.  As you can see in the 1st picture, I purchased all 3.
*All of the pictures were taken from the Black Opal website except for the 1st one.
